Today’s 40-50 generation, of which I am a part, has had a lot of experience with uncertainty in recent years. Financial crisis, health crisis, threat of bankruptcy, end of the world… All the things we thought were secure, knowledge, bank deposits, real estate, stable jobs or prosperous businesses have not given us a sense of unshakable stability in recent years. And we fought so hard for it!
For decades, we have perfected the strategy of preparing for every eventuality, that one day it will be just right and we might be able to sit back a little or at least improve our life balance. I admit that life has challenged me in recent years in terms of finding security, especially in the emotional aspect.
I like to prepare with plan A, B, C and D!! It has taken me many months of searching and searching for the answer to the big question, where is security?
How can we prepare ourselves for a crisis situation?
How can we secure ourselves so that we don’t have to step back so much on that certain ladder that represents our standard of living?
What and how can we prepare for worse times? What else can happen that has never happened before 🙂
Because we have learned that anything, really anything, can happen! And the likes of which the world has never seen before. I’ve taken everything from a bloody professional mathematical calculation to an eso-spiri approach.
And all in all, I’ve come to realise that safety is not outside, it’s inside! And over time, as we overcome more and more difficult situations in life, we become stronger.
And we become certain that we can recreate ourselves from time to time, and whatever life may bring, all may be lost around us, but as long as our hearts are beating we always have the opportunity to start again. And that’s all the security we need…
